Our Story, Mission, and Commitment to Digital Rights
COMPSUDEV (Community Participation in Sustainable Development) was founded in 2015 with a vision to empower communities and youths in Cameroon through technology and digital literacy. Starting with a focus on ICT training, we expanded our mission to include digital rights advocacy, internet censorship measurement, and sustainable development initiatives.
Based in Buea, Southwest Region, our organization has been at the forefront of advocating for digital freedoms and open access to the internet in Cameroon, particularly during times of internet shutdowns and government censorship.
To provide sustainable development programs for communities and youths in Cameroon using ICT and Open Access to the internet, while promoting digital rights and freedoms, civic engagement, and youth empowerment in technology.
A Cameroon where all communities and youths have equitable access to technology and are empowered to use it for sustainable development and the protection of digital rights and freedoms.
We believe in equitable access to technology for all, regardless of background or socioeconomic status.
We advocate for freedom of expression, freedom of access to information, and protection from digital surveillance.
